Artistic Secularism

Many of the prominent voices in the humanist, skeptical, and atheist movements live and work in stereotypically secular fields like science, education, and journalism. Do the experiences of those following the more traditionally spiritual path of the musician, actor, or visual artist have different experiences in expressing their secular bent?
